FAQ

Boudoir ShotWhat should I wear?

We encourage you to bring anything considered sensual, sexy, fun or flirty! Whether it’s a new bra and panty set or a beautiful camisole, new lingerie can make any woman feel great. Please bring as many different outfits to your shoot as possible. It is better to have way too many than to sit here and say, “I wish I would have brought that outfit!” Whether you’re trying to achieve a number of different looks or just want some diversity, your wardrobe plays a big part in your shoot and will allow us to deliver a great variety of images to you. We’ve also got a small variety of pieces in studio, along with accessories to add to your wardrobe.

What about accessories?

We love accessories! They can really add another dimension to your look and personalize your boudoir photographs that much more. Often the best accessories are found in your closet already. Maybe it’s your favorite necklace or the tie he wore on your wedding day. Great accessories can be scarves, hats, lacy cuffs and of course shoes. DO NOT forget your shoes. This may be the one accessory you can’t live without. We’re always open to anything that is special to you. If it makes you feel beautiful, bring it.

I’m nervous. How do I get past that part of it?

Most of us are nervous in front of the camera fully clothed, so we understand how nerve wracking the thought of doing this can be. The first thing to think about is that you’re doing it. So you must feel at least confident enough to have picked up the phone. The second thing is that we are here to help you celebrate your natural beauty and to create beautiful artistic photographs of you; photographs that you’ll treasure from now until the end of time. Boudoir does not have to be about getting naked and baring it all. It’s about you and what makes you feel sexy and what kind of session you want.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! We know from experience that having a friend around can be comforting and fun. So bring them along.

Do you do Maternity Boudoir shoots?

Yes! We believe that there’s something truly gorgeous- and even sexy – about a pregnant woman. Maternity sessions can be fun on your own or with a partner. We don’t all feel sexy when we’re pregnant, this session will remind you that you are.

Where do the photography sessions take place?

Generally, our photo shoots take place in our photography studio in Fort Mill, SC. However, your home or even a glamorous hotel room are options we can accommodate if you’re looking for a more specific setting. There is a small transportation charge for “On Location” sessions.

I want to get some sexy shots, but I don’t want to be nude. Is that OK?

How much or how little you want to reveal is completely up to you. What one might find to be sexy is different than what another might find sexy. So please, do not feel any pressure to reveal any more than you want to but also keep in mind that that sometimes changes once you’re feeling at ease in the studio. We are in the business of making our clients feel content, beautiful, sexy and encouraged. Know that we respect your boundaries. Your time with us is not about what we want, it’s all about you and what you are comfortable with.

Do you edit the photographs?

Every print that you order is carefully retouched and fine tuned to create beautiful prints that look natural. We remove blemishes, smooth lines; enhance your eyes and lips, while keeping it true to you. If you have specific desires for retouching please just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

I’ve never done anything like this before, how will I know what to do and how to pose?

Do not fret! We are here for you in every way. Our team will work with you to create just the right look. We will direct you to pose in the most flattering, fun and sexy ways. Using different camera angles and lighting, we will work to play-up your best assets and simply not focus on your least favorite areas. Our goal is to provide you with 100%

I love that picture!

If you would like to replicate a specific image or style you should discuss it before the day of your shoot. Collect images you like and we will do our very best to recreate your vision and exceed your expectations!

How should I arrive?

Come with your hair freshly done. Get plenty of sleep the night before your shoot. If you wax, please do so before your shoot but not immediately before. Have your nails done. Have your base coat of makeup on. Remember this is your boudoir shoot; bring any props or items you think would add to your experience.

Where are you located?

We are located in Fort Mill, SC. We can shoot you in our studio or at a location of your choice. Locations must be in a reasonable proximity of our studio and a small charge may be added to cover our drive/setup time.

What types of Photography do you do?

We are comfortable shooting all genres of photography. We can handle the ‘traditional’ shots as well as ‘out of the box’, contemporary pieces. You can be as risque or as subdued as you want to be – this is about you, not us – if you can dream it, we can shoot it!

How do I book a session?

You can email us or give us a call to schedule your session. Once we agree on a date and time, we will ask you for a session deposit of $50.00. This deposit is fully refundable provided you give us, at least, 72 hours notice of cancellation. Once your deposit is received, your session sill be scheduled and no one else will be able to book that time.

When do I see my proofs?

Proofs are usually ready within 2 weeks. We will set up an appointment at your session so you can review your proofs.

Can I make copies of the photo’s after I buy them from you?

As a photographer, we own the copyright and you are not permitted to make copies without our permission. We would be more than happy to provide you with additional prints should you desire.

How can I be sure I have the right Photographer?

In today’s world where everyone owns a digital camera, this is not an easy task. Ask your friends for recommendations, try to judge the professionalism of the person you are considering doing business with.

Below are a few potential “warning signs” when dealing with Professional Photographers:

Photographers who never move their lights – No two people are exactly alike (ok – maybe identical twins). But the rest of us are vastly different. So, how can a photographer expect to shoot all clients the same way and still capture something unique? The main reason that lights should be moved and positioned for YOU is so we are certain we are capturing your qualities in the “best light possible” – eliminating harsh shadows that are not pleasing to your size or shape. If they don’t ever move their lights, chances are your photo’s will not be as flattering to you as they should be.

Photographers that don’t take into account the whole picture – You’ve seen them before – you are scrolling through a photographer’s gallery and there behind the picture of the beautiful girl or handsome guy is the most wrinkled backdrop you have ever seen – it looks like it’s been in the bottom drawer rolled up like a sock for 10 years. Or the shot where the light stand just happened to find its way into the picture. If they can’t take the time to insure the background isn’t compromised, how can you be certain that they will take the time making sure your photo’s are perfect?

Photographers who use cheap paper for prints – Quality photographs require quality printing. Your photographer should use a Quality lab for all of their printing, not a grocery/department store 1 hour foto lab. Ask us to show you some photographs we had printed 5 years ago that still look fabulous.

Photographers who only shoot outdoors – Shooting only outdoors is okay, provided they have the right equipment. Even though the sun is a powerful light, it does not do our features any justice, as it is one of the harshest lights available. Portable lighting should always be used outdoors – either to enhance the light that is there or to remove shadows that can not be filtered away. Reflectors and sunshades are also necessities when outside.

Photographers who give away their services – The world of photography pricing is a very difficult one. There are so many people calling themselves “photographers” these days and a lot of them are advertising ‘deals’ that have to raise a red flag…if the deal seems to good too be true, it probably is. There is a reason that they are giving you all the shots from your session on CD included in their $25 fee and unfortunately, by the time you realize why they were so cheap, you have wasted a lot of your time.

There is nothing more important to us than your happiness with the experience of the photo session, and with your product. We want you to tell others about it. How we achieve this is simple: integrity, respect, and sensitivity.

We will honor your wishes at all times. You will feel safe, secure, and confident. No image of you will ever be made available to anyone without your permission. Your privacy is always respected, and no one except the photographers and anyone else you allow will be present at your session.

***Please note***

We are generally booked 2-3 weeks in advance – please schedule your session 6 weeks prior to needing your photographs.

Is there anything else I need to know?

If there is a possibility that you will pose topless or nude please do not wear any tight fitting clothing prior to the session. This includes bras and panties. They will leave lines that generally take an hour to disappear and they WILL show in the photo’s. If in doubt, leave em out! Boudoir Shot
